College Gameday's Guest Picker for Championship Week Is None Other Than Noted College Football Diehard Timothee Chalamet
Absolutely nothing says getting ready for an SEC Championship Game clash between Georgia and Texas like putting Timothee Chalamet up on the College Gameday desk to pick the Champ Week slate. When I think ball knowers, I think French Ivy League actor Timmy C.
Now I don't have anything against this guy personally, but I also don't want him on my television attempting to talk about some of the most important college football games of the year. If I'm going to see a movie about a guy who leads an intergalactic population in a war against giant worms or something — I haven't seen Dune, but I'm pretty sure that's the gist of it from what I've gathered — then I absolutely want Timothee Chalamet front and center. On Gameday, however, much less so.
Where the hell did this pick even come from, you ask? A Disney boardroom.
I understand Disney using the biggest properties it has to promote upcoming projects from which it needs to make money. And I will admit much of my animus regarding this decision is based on a presupposition that Chalamet does not know ball, so he has an opportunity to prove me wrong. But have him do a guest spot on Abbott Elementary or something rather than shoehorn him into the guest picker on Championship Saturday. You are making me want to see this Bob Dylan movie even less than the 0 percent I already wanted to.
If anyone on that desk has an ounce of integrity and willingness to stand up for what is right, they'll ask Timmy what he's thought about Cam Skattebo's season.
